The overall objective of the consultancy is to provide coordination support and communication services to the Sweden-Ukraine District Heating Fund Programme.
As a local partner, MDI LTD will participate in the overall coordination, monitoring and follow-up of the Programme, in identifying prospective Programme and Project Partners and in preparing pre-studies and feasibility studies of project proposals. MDI LTD will also be responsible for certain communication and dissemination activities of the Programme.
In early March 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, project implementation was put on hold upon Client’s request until the situation stabilizes.
In April 2023 the project activities resumed in Brovary and Vinnytsia.
Project achievements:
- Under “Sweden-Ukraine District Heating Fund”, being implemented by MDI Ltd. since May 2019, local team made a study trip to Sweden
- SUDH Programme has been launched on October 3, 2019
- The questionnaires for the selection of pilot SUDH Programme municipalities we assessed
- In January 2020 SUDH Team made the working trips to Vinnytsia and Brovary
- In February – March 2020 SUDH Team made the working trips to Chuhuiv, Poltava, Mariupol and Dobropillia
- The pre-FS for Mariupol and Brovary have been approved. The project proposals for the remaining 4 cities are being finalized
- SUDH Team has presented the project proposals for all 6 selected municipalities
- Article on preparation of the FS for DH system in Brovary, Ukraine was published in EURO Heat and Power Magazine (available by link)
- In April 2023 the project was relaunched after a war-induced hiatus
