The tasks of MDI included the following:

• Overall advice for the implementation of the Project and coordination with other stakeholders;
• Providing general expertise for the implementation of Project measures in accordance with the approved results matrix/logframe, time schedule, operational plans, and work plans;
• Supporting municipalities and Subproject Implementation Partners (SIPs) in design and implementation of operation and maintenance procedures;
• Elaboration of regular reports on the implementation of the Project according to the agreed reporting structure and schedule; coordination and supervision of elaboration and submission of inputs to the reports by team members;
• Assistance and advice to USIF in the day-to-day implementation of project activities, in particular regarding financial and procurement related issues;
