Geographical coverage: GCAs of Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv Oblasts
The objectives of the activity are as follows:
- Modernization of participatory tools to strengthen democratic processes at the local level.
- Establishing a dialogue between the authorities and the public to develop policies and effective decisions at the local level.
- Promoting the use of participatory tools in policy-making and effective decision-making at the local level.
The project components are as follows:
- a wide informational outreach campaign to facilitate a constructive dialogue between hromadas (communities) and authorities. This includes dissemination of public engagement methods, best practices, examples, success stories of cooperation between the local governments (LG) and the public
- a media campaign on actualization of participatory and adhocratic values (trust, understanding, pro-activeness, gender equality, inclusion, as well as creativity, adaptiveness, conscious risk-taking, strategic thinking)
- an informational outreach campaign in line with project’s focus areas for wider SH engagement
- professional (certificate) programs for further training of the LG staff
- four short-term training programs for the active citizens
- a contest “Successful Hromada’s Participation” among NGOs of the target communities with subsequent dissemination of the best practices and success stories of the winners in promotional videos and publications
- institutional support of the participatory processes in target communities, in particular legal and advocacy support in establishing CSOs
- advocacy and consultancy support to the beneficiaries, including support in holding participatory events in hromadas (round tables, panel discussions, Advisory/Working Group Meetings, workshops, quick surveys, etc.), consultancy via a chat-bot.
