On December 6, 2017, at the seminar for National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC), MDI presented to NEURC staff the results of surveys and recommendations for introducing the benchmarking system (comparative analysis) at NEURC for benchmarking in DH sector and using benchmarking results in regulatory activities. Surveys were conducted and recommendations were developed by MDI in the framework of fulfillment of the tasks under the USAID Municipal Energy Reform in Ukraine Project. The Project "Energy Efficient Schools: New Generation" invites Ukrainian schools to join the innovative web-based distance learning program that will be implemented in the academic year 2017-2018 and consists of two optional courses "Basics of Energy Supply and Energy Saving" for students of 6-8 grades and "ABC of Management of Housing and Communal Services" for students of 9-11 grades of secondary schools.
Both training courses are oriented to development of practical energy saving skills and are approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for implementation by secondary schools.

On October 10, 2017, a Train-the-trainer workshop on nearly zero-energy buildings was organized at the Ukrainian Training and Consulting Center for Design and Research on Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEB Center). The Centre was established in 2016 as a joint effort of MDI and Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) in the framework of the EC Project "Train-to-NZEB: The Building Knowledge Hubs" and is hosted by KNUCA.
