MDI is supporting the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan and Ministry's Working Group on Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency in developing and carrying out the National Information Campaign to promote energy efficiency and energy saving. This also includes training WG members and other stakeholders, conducting of Focus Groups with personnel of utility companies, large industrial and commercial energy users, opinion leaders, residents of individual houses and apartment blocks, and other activities. MDI provided assistance to the Company to develop the medium-term strategy and a strategic Business Plan, a 5-years Financial Plan, aiming at full cost recovery, a Tariff Adjustment Plan, and to improve customer relations and communication policies and strategies. Since April 2018, MDI is providing assistance to Ministry of Regional Development and Kyiv Heating Company regarding heating networks planning, optimization and development. Ministry also receives assistance in implementing incentive-based tariff regulation by heating companies, who receive licenses for operations from oblast governments and Kyiv City State Administration... CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR LUTSK HEATING COMPANY LUTSKTEPLO
Jointly with Lutsk City Council MDI developed a Public Service Contract on the Lutsk Heating Company's activities on heat energy generation, transportation and supply and provision of district heating and centralized hot water supply services. The City and the Company signed the Public Service Contract in December 2016. Details
EE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN TAJIKISTAN
MDI developed the training course "Energy Saving in Buildings" and conducted trainings for the Institute of Energy of the Republic of Tajikistan, including a special training on technical examination (energy audit) of buildings and equipment. In 2017, Institute of Energy received a license from the Ministry of Education and can now train specialists in the new specialty "Heat and Power Engineering". Details

TRAIN-TO-NZEB: THE BUILDING KNOWLEDGE HUBS
The Ukrainian training and consultancy hub on nearly zero-energy buildings was established in 2016 and by the end of the Project, October 2018, 402 persons were trained, among them: construction workers; specialists (designers), non-specialist decision-makers, and a new target group - specialists in energy performance certification of buildings and energy examination of engineering systems. 450 schools of 209 localities in Ukraine implemented two training courses developed by MDI and educated school pupils of energy efficiency and energy saving. Details
ENERGY EFFICIENT SCHOOLS: NEW GENERATION. FOURTH WAVE
210 schools, Project participants, saved 312 thousand kWh of electric energy as a result of contests and EE actions. 125 schools implemented energy efficiency improvements with budgets ranging from UAH 10 000 to 180 000. The implemented projects were developed by school students with assistance from MDI. The schools received USD 78 000 in grants to implement energy efficiency measures. Almost 100 000 persons were directly involved in the Project – school students and their parents, teachers and other adults learned to be responsible consumers of energy resources. Details
NEW GENERATION
MDI developed and implemented the training course "ABC of Management of Housing and Communal Services" and 12 schools of three cities of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast implemented the training course. Details
ENERGY EFFICIENT SCHOOLS
With assistance from MDI, schools during two months conducted contests for energy saving and together managed to save 179 141 KW•hour of electric energy for total of UAH 291 104 (electricity tariff at the time 1.625 UAH/KW•hour) and average reduced electricity consumption for all participating schools was 12.3%. ENERGY EFFICIENT NIGHT KYIV
31 modern energy efficient street lamps were installed and 17 old and broken street lamps were dismantled and 38 LED lamps were installed in the pilot district in Kyiv. Annual saving of electric energy was almost 9 000 KW•hour. Details
LOCAL ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOLUTIONS IN MYRHOROD
A gas operated boiler house was reconstructed and a multi-fuel bio-boiler was installed. For the first time in Ukraine the pilot project on establishing the infrastructure for biomass collection, baling, and transportation from the field to storage facilities was implemented. Five municipalities of Poltava region received assistance to prepare the feasibility studies on bio-energy projects and all necessary documents for attraction of a private investor under PPP arrangement.
